Simply put, it is fluid movement. Liquids are materials that can be compressed, although to do so involves a large amount of pressure. The reverse of this pressure could be used to achieve numerous purposes. And the method of harnessing this force is known as hydraulics.

Hydraulics are systems that consist of two pistons. Pressure is applied on the master piston. The place where pressure is transmitted is known as the slave piston. This allows for an extremely small amount force to be applied at long distances to the master piston as well as an even greater force to be observed at the slave piston’s ending. The principle behind this is behind hydraulic lifts when applied on a large scale.
