This means that there is a higher risk of diseases that would have been deemed preventable in other parts of the world. It also means that unnecessary deaths are taking place. Vaccines actually contribute to the saving of 2.5 million lives every year that would have been taken due to preventable diseases in some of our youngest children, who are most susceptible to receiving quite a bit of harm from these diseases. Statistics show us that about 7% of children are still now vaccinated for Polio, which means that there is always a great risk of harm in children. By ensuring that our vaccines are functioning and available to us, we can reduce the amount of fatalities that occur in those who are healthy.

According to the CDC, vaccines should be stored properly around 40 degrees Fahrenheit so that we can ensure that they are functioning properly in the children and adults who receive them. Proper storage includes storing vaccines at an ideal temperature, recording daily temperatures at the start of every workday, and checking the temperature each time the scientific refrigerator is opened. When storing vaccines in a medical freezer, you want to ensure that the vaccines are never out of the desired range or else they could stop working in the blink of an eye.
