Internet marketing is all the rage these days, and it has been for awhile. If your small business doesn’t already have a solid web presence, you’re way behind and your competitors who do already have a one up on you. What’s important to understand — for business owners who are just dipping their toes into the waters of internet marketing — is that the foundation for any internet marketing campaign is having a quality and well designed website. Here are three things to keep in mind.
Optimize for mobile
One of the most important elements of good web design is optimizing the site for mobile viewing. Most Americans have one or more mobile devices like cell phones, ereaders, and tablets. Furthermore, mobile browsing is expected to surpass desktop browsing in just a few short years. Making sure that your potential customers or clients are able to view and navigate your website on a teeny four inch screen is essential.
Make it easy to navigate
Another really important element of good web design is easy navigation. If people can’t immediately understand how to get around your site, they are going to find another one to use. Many websites have a navigation bar at the top of the page with easy to read tabs. Another good tip is to make the top left of the page your logo which takes the user back to the home page when clicked.
If all of this seems to be out of your league or you simply don’t have time to put it into practice, you need to start looking for the best internet marketing firms for web design. If you don’t have a website yet or the one you do have is subpar, you have a lot of catching up to do and you probably can’t really afford to put it off or neglect it anymore.
