Pure water technology is the next best thing in the drinking water world. It is a bottleless water solution for those of us that understand that bottles are not the best idea for holding water. If you can have a pure water system that gives you filtered, clean water without having to include all the risks that come with drinking out a bottle, why would anyone choose otherwise? In order to implement pure water technology in your home or work place, you will want to invest in a water cool system that does not have a bottle. Instead, you pour faucet water into the machine and it filters through the system until it pours pure water out of the spout. If you aren’t convinced, here are some reasons why you should never drink bottled water.
Plastic bottles are not sustainable
Bottles are made and filled, then shipped around the world using an enormous amount of fossil fuels and water. No matter how many times we are told that these bottles are recyclable, six out of seven bottles are simply thrown away. The toxins from the degrading plastic leaches into water supplies and soils; not a great idea for the environment. The bottles are definitely not biodegradable. CCTV systems have caught recycling companies simply tossing these bottles in the trash. They essential become litter that release toxins in to the air when incinerated.
Bottled water is simply upgraded tap water
Sure, the picture shows a mountain stream on the bottle but the truth is, only very few bottle waters come from groundwater sources. Approximately 25% of bottled water comes from a faucet. These companies might uses filter or a blast of ultraviolet light before sealing them off and selling them but the truth is, they are just glorified tap water that costs so much more than it should.
Plastic bottles contain toxins
Everyone boasts of being BPA free now but other chemicals are still laced in to the bottles that can get out if the bottle sits in the heat for to long. These chemicals are known as endocrine disruptors and medical facilities are still unsure of the health outcomes from these types of chemicals. This is a bigger deal than we might think. You wouldn’t put unknown chemicals into your body if you didn’t know what they were but that’s exactly what you are doing by downing bottled water. Pure water technology keeps you safe from all of that.
Less Regulation
Tap water is actually more regulated than bottled water. Tap water falls in to the food category by the EPA’s mandate but bottled water comes under the FDA’s jurisdiction which has less regulations. Bottled water companies are given more room to cut corners and still be able to legally sell their product.
Waste of Oil
In order to meet the demand of water bottle manufacturing in the United States alone, over 1.5 billion barrels of oil are used. This is more than what is used in a year to provide power and this does not even including fossil fuel and emission costs that are spent transporting the products to the market.
Waste of Water
As strange as it sounds, it takes three liters of water in order to package one liter of water. When the claim is that bottled water is good for the environment and for you, it doesn’t make sense to be wasting that much water in order to package the water! So, 1/4 liter oil + 3 liters water = 1 bottled water.
In short, it’s simply not worth it to drink bottled water anymore. You can make use of pure water technology and save your own body, the environment and your wallet from unnecessary damage and risk. It might help to keep in mind that just because a bottle is recyclable doesn’t mean that it is recycled. They are not the same thing but the wording is set just right so that it causes confusion to consumers. Don’t be fooled by the pretty, relaxing pictures on the labels of the bottle. The labels themselves are completely awful for our environment yet the marketing is done in such a way that we don’t even think about it. Go with pure water technology and help the world one non used bottle at a time.
